Kulturschiff.ch creates bespoke birthday celebrations, anniversaries, weddings, corporate events and client receptions on Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten in Switzerland.

Easily accessible from Zurich, Basel and Bern, Kulturschiff welcomes private groups and companies from across Switzerland to the scenic Three Lakes region, surrounded by vineyard villages and views of the Bernese Alps.

Aboard the historic, fully electric Romandie I – 1952, the tranquillity of emission-free cruising, fine dining and individually tailored activities come together to create an experience that goes far beyond a traditional boat trip.

The boat is reserved exclusively for your private group of 2 to 35 guests, with no other passengers or public access. Captain and host Patrik Bucher personally plans and accompanies every event from start to finish.

CORPORATE & CLIENT EVENTS

Business Beyond the Meeting Room

Take clients, business partners or your team somewhere they do not expect. Kulturschiff combines a private cruise with hospitality, food and an individually planned programme – with no other guests on board.

Private Corporate Cruise

Bring your team together away from the usual setting. An aperitif, selected food and a route through the Three Lakes Region create the setting for conversations, celebrations or simply time together.

Client Experience

Invite important clients or business partners to an experience designed around them. Combine the cruise with regional wines, dining, a visit to a wine village or a carefully chosen stop ashore.

Business Dinner on Board

Replace the restaurant table with your own private boat. Enjoy a business lunch or dinner on board while the landscape passes quietly by and conversations remain within your group.

Every corporate experience is planned around your guests, available time and purpose – from a few focused hours to a complete day on the water.

Boat & Wine Village

Start with an aperitif on board, cruise along the vineyards of Lake Biel and step ashore in Twann or Ligerz for lunch or dinner. Afterwards, return to your private boat for dessert and coffee.

Combine your private cruise with a visit to St. Peter’s Island. Enjoy the journey across Lake Biel, go ashore for a walk and a meal, then continue your celebration on board.

Boat & Dining on Board

Stay entirely on the water. Food is prepared on board while you enjoy the changing scenery, conversation and the privacy of your own boat.

Boat & Aperitif Cruise

A relaxed private cruise with drinks and our Apéro Nautique – ideal for bringing family and friends together without planning a full-day event.

FOOD & WINE

Part of the Experience

Food on Kulturschiff is not an add-on. It is planned as part of the journey – from the first drink on board to a menu prepared in front of your guests or a meal ashore in one of the villages around Lake Biel.

Apéro Nautique

Our relaxed way to begin a private cruise: selected appetisers, regional wines and time to arrive, talk and enjoy the lake.

Live Cooking on Board

Our Resident Chef Manuel Hotz, awarded 15 GaultMillau points, leads the culinary experience on board. For selected occasions, we also invite Selected Guest Chefs to bring their own signature to the Kulturschiff.

Boat & Shore Dining

Combine your cruise with lunch or dinner ashore in Twann, Ligerz or on St. Peter’s Island. The boat, route and restaurant become different chapters of the same experience.

Food, wine and timing are selected to suit your occasion and the way you want to spend your time on the water.

WEDDINGS

Your Wedding. Your Private Boat.

Celebrate your wedding on Lake Biel with the people who matter to you. Kulturschiff gives you a private setting on the water – for an aperitif, a meal on board or a journey to one of the region’s most memorable places.

Boat & Wedding Aperitif

Welcome your guests aboard for a private cruise with drinks and selected appetisers. An elegant way to connect different parts of your wedding day or simply celebrate together on the lake.

Boat & St. Peter’s Island

Travel across Lake Biel to St. Peter’s Island for your ceremony, meal or celebration ashore. The journey itself becomes part of the wedding day, with the Kulturschiff reserved exclusively for you and your guests.

Private Celebration on Board

Celebrate entirely on the water with drinks, food and a route planned around your wedding. The Romandie I – 1952 offers an intimate setting away from public venues and unrelated guests.

Route, timing, food and individual details are planned personally with you.

THE BOAT & THE THREE LAKES REGION

One Historic Boat. Three Lakes.

Built in 1952, the Romandie I combines the character of a historic Swiss passenger boat with contemporary design by Atelier Oï and fully electric propulsion. Today, she is a private charter boat for groups of up to 35 guests.

Since 2022, the Romandie I has been fully electric. A 100 kW electric drive, 140 kWh propulsion battery and solar panels make cruising remarkably quiet – without a combustion engine or diesel generator on board.

Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel & Lake Murten

Kulturschiff operates throughout Switzerland’s Three Lakes Region. Depending on the time available, your journey can lead through the vineyards of Twann and Ligerz, around St. Peter’s Island, through the Zihl Canal and onwards to Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten.

There is no fixed public timetable. Choose one of our proven routes or adapt the journey, shore stops and duration to your experience.

Boarding is possible at different locations across the Three Lakes Region. For many experiences, Biel/Bienne is the most convenient and cost-efficient starting point, avoiding unnecessary empty cruising.

THE MAN BEHIND KULTURSCHIFF

Your Captain. Your Host.

Patrik Bucher turned the historic Romandie I – 1952 into the Kulturschiff and has remained personally involved ever since.

When you contact Kulturschiff, you speak directly with Patrik. He discusses your ideas, helps shape the route, food and programme, and develops the experience around your guests and your occasion.

And when the day arrives, he is still there – as your captain and personal host on board.

YOUR PRIVATE EXPERIENCE STARTS HERE

Tell Us What You Have in Mind.

A milestone birthday, a wedding, an important client event or simply a reason to bring the right people together – tell Patrik what you are planning.

He will help you turn your ideas into a private experience on the water.

Yes. The Romandie I – 1952 is reserved exclusively for your group. Kulturschiff.ch is a Swiss company which goes beyond conventional boat hire by combining the cruise, route, food, shore stops and programme into one individually planned experience.

Kulturschiff welcomes private groups of up to 35 guests. Experiences with dining prepared on board are designed for smaller groups, depending on the chosen format.

Kulturschiff operates on Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten in Switzerland’s Three Lakes Region. Biel/Bienne is the most common starting point, while boarding at other locations can also be arranged.

A shorter aperitif cruise can start at around two hours. Experiences combining cruising with dining or a shore stop generally require at least four and a half hours. The duration is planned around the experience you choose.

Start with a personal conversation with Patrik Bucher. Tell him about your occasion, guests and ideas. He will then help you develop the right combination of boat, route, food, shore stops and programme for your group.
